    touristy part of town (near the eiffel), but much goodness here. cute setting, lovely fare. dishes served in jars or cast iron pots (cocottes). no reservations.

    this place is a hoot. tucked away in the back of a courtyard on the east side of the street, a superbly organized vintage + taxidermy store on four floors!

    this is an exquisite food market, where you can buy everything from cheeses to delicacies from all over the world to fresh produce and fruits. superb spot.

    an inspiring walk along quai de valmy, starting in the north near point éphémère. then head south, many bookstores en route, like Artazart Design Bookstore.

    when near canal st. martin, you won't do better than this lovely lovely bakery. there's often a line out the door. check for hours, sometimes closed weekends.

    beautiful yet chill moroccan dinner spot. kindest staff. better yet, there's a secret back room club called le derrière (ask about it, different vibe but fun).

    a "soulful" club, which i've heard is good for underground south african deep house. check the website for current listings and hours before heading out.
