  • What is Jauntful anyway?

    Jauntful helps you create shareable printable guides of your favorite travel tips — restaurants, activities, personal notes — anything your friends should know about the cities you love.

  • How is it useful?

    Jauntful is perfect to create a guide for friends vacationing where you used to live, leave neighborhood tips for houseguests or wedding guests, or make sure your parents know where to go when they come to visit.

    Just enter the venues and any personal notes you like, and we’ll create a beautiful guide they can print and carry in their pocket or use on any device.

    Jauntful is also great for businesses to create branded guides for customers, new employees, guests, and readers with places and tips that embody their brand, taste, and interests.

  • Why can I only add 16 tips?

    We believe that short and focused guides are better—better to select, better to use, better to share. We also believe that the person creating the guide should do the hard work and make the hard choices instead of the person using the guide.

    How can I get unlimited tips?

    Since customers know best, you can have unlimited tips when you subscribe to the Premium plan.

  • How do I create a guide?

    On your profile page, type the city name in the search field of the "Create a guide" tile and select it from the result list.

  • How do I add tips to a guide?

    There are currently two types of tips: places and notes.

    A place is any location you might find on a map, like a place of a business, a public space, or a residence. To add a place, click on the "Add a place" button, search for the place and select it in the results list. If you cannot find it using the quick search, you can either add its address manually or drop a pin on map.

    A note is a free-form recommendation in any form or topic you choose. To add a note, click on the "Add a note" button, write your note and click the "Add" button.

    An event is any activity with a date and a location. To add an event, click on the "Add an event" button, search an Eventbrite event or add your own. Events are only available on Business and Premium plans.

  • How do I import a Foursquare list?

    Unfortunately, very few people were using this feature so we decided to remove it.

  • Can I import a KML file from GoogleMaps?

    The short answer is: no, sorry.

    GoogleMaps exports custom maps in KML format, which has a very basic structure: name, coordinates, and description (catch-all field). This makes it very difficult for us to parse reliably and import it into our more detailled data structure.

  • What happens when I click the Finish button?

    It opens a Review page where you can complete any missing information, choose the Stealth status, view suggestions to improve your guide. Once you're satisfied, all that's left to do is click the "Publish" button.

  • What are Stealth guides?

    A stealth guide is not visible on your public profile, but available to anyone you’ve shared it with directly or with the URL.

  • Can I edit my guide once it's published?

    Your guides are always editable – you can delete a tip, add new tips, change a recommendation on a tip, upload a new photo, etc. Note that the edits are reflected in realtime if your guide is published.

  • How can I embed a guide on another site?

    You can embed this guide to your website by copying and pasting the HTML code provide on the Embed page.

    Important: Some services strip javascript tags, which prevents Jauntful embeds from functioning.

  • How can I set the width and height of the Embed?

    data-width — allows you to set an optional width. By default, Embeds are 600px wide, however they are also responsive and will scale down as the window of a website is scaled.

    data-height — allows you to set an optional height with 533px by default.

  • What are collections?

    Collections are sets of guides – from you or other people on Jauntful.

  • How do I create a new collection?

    To create a new collection, navigate to the first guide you want to add to that collection and select "Add to collection" under the "...More" menu (we're not proud of that, it's lazy design). A modal will open, click the "Create new collection" button, add a title, and choose the Stealth status.

  • How do I add a guide to a collection?

    To add a guide to a collection, open the guide and select "Add to collection" under the "...More" menu. A modal will open and click the "add" button next to the collection you wish to add this guide to.

  • Printed Guides & Orders

  • How do I order printed guides?

    You can order printed guides directly from your guides' page. Click Order Guides under the "... More" menu.

    If you have a Jauntful Business account, you can also order guides at a 20% discount during the Publishing process.

  • How do I customize the back page of the guide?

    You can customize the back page of the guide only if you have a Jauntful Business account. Just email us at hello@jauntful.com a high resolution PDF (vector or 300DPI) in 11x8.5" size.

  • Can you ship outside of the United States?

    We currently only ship to the United States for orders made on Jauntful.com. If you wish to have guides delivered to another country, please email us the quantity and destination, and we'll get you a quote.

  • Where can I follow the status of my order?

    You can follow the status of your order under Billing in Account Settings.

  • Where can I retrieve an invoice?

    Next to your order status, you'll find a link to print the invoice for this order.

  • Account & Profile

  • Account basics

    You can access and update your account information by going to account settings. There you can update your personal information, change your password, and adjust your notification preferences.

  • Can I change my username?

    You can change your username by going to your account page. If the username is taken, you'll be asked to choose another one. Please note that changing your username will break the URLs you've shared previously.

  • Why should I add my social account to Jauntful?

    Adding your Twitter, Facebook, or Foursquare makes it quicker to sign in, helps you find your friends who are already here, share your guides on your Twitter and Facebook feeds directly from Jauntful, and create guides easily by seeing the venues you've checked in previously.

  • How do I connect my social account?

    You can link your Jauntful account to your Twitter, Facebook, or Foursquare accounts by going to your social account page.

  • How do I deactivate my account?

    To deactivate your account, simply go to your account page and click on Deactivate my account at the bottom of the page. Read the account deactivation information and enter your password before clicking Confirm.

    If you wish to permanently and irreversibly delete your account; drop a line to hello@jauntful.com. All files associated with a deleted account will be marked for deletion and permanently deleted after sixty days.

    Our official support is limited to the latest versions of the following browsers: Safari on Mac and iOS; Chrome on Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android; Firefox on Mac and Windows

  • Language support

    Jauntful support is limited to the English language. That said, many people are using it to create guides in other languages with success. We can’t guarantee everything will work in other languages, but you are welcome to try it at your own risk.

    In the future, we hope to internationalize the application and make it accessible in as many languages as possible.
